I knew that I needed to start exercising on a regular basis (my increasing waist size was the first clue!), but I was extremely unmotivated and I had a hard time being
consistent with going to the gym. One day while at the gym, I noticed a group of ladies who looked like they were having the time of their lives...they were shimmying,
shaking, and making all kinds of noise! So, I decided that I would give that class a try next time. Fast forward 2 years, and I am now a Zumba-holic! So much so, that
I became a  Zumba instructor, and I am now sharing my love of Zumba with others! I have gone from a size 14 to a size 10, and I have lost several inches all over.
More importantly, I feel fantastic!

Hello, Kim,
I just visited your website and know a little about you.
I want to tell you how great your Zumba class is! It is the best class ever! I have been a member with CFF for 4 years and usually I take step class, Yoga class or
treadmill. But none of the exercises could let me feel so happy, energetic and "alive", after sitting in front of computer for 8 hours. The other classes are good, but
somehow monotonous.
Zumba fulfills the dream of exercise, dancing, enjoyment, & self-recognition.
Today it was my 4th class.
For a long time, I stood outside of the classroom and watched and doubted, what is Zumba? It looked so difficult! Could I do it?
One day, I stepped in and I felt the air was different. Now, this hour is the happiest time of the week and something I am looking forward every week. Due to my work
hour, I can only take the Wed class.
You wouldn’t imagine how you influenced my life!
Thank you for the Zumba class and bring us joy of life!

I partied with Kim and her class today.  It was great!! For those that are still hesitant to try let me tell you..... I am not a slim health nut. Instead, I am a person with
Fibromyalgia (arthritis in my muscles) who needs to work out at least 30 minutes each day, (despite the pain I already suffer in my muscles) so my muscles will not
cramp up.  Kim was great; she even offered variations on moves (high-impact and low-impact).  Also, I may add that when I Zumba, I often work out 40 minutes to an
hour, because it is so fun and the time goes by fast.

I walked into your class by accident about six months ago. I had never even heard of Zumba! My kids are growing up and moving out, and I am getting ready to turn
53!! Aaah! It is so annoying!! It all went by way too fast!!! Though I have been a certified "gym rat" (that's what we used to call them) for years, time does sneak up
on you and your body begins to change even if you don't put on any weight. I have never loved anything in the gym as much as I love your class. You are an
amazing teacher, with incredible energy and so fun!! Though I still lift weights and run, the core training I get in your class has once again transformed my workout
and I actually have a waist again! I wish I could do your class every day, I look so forward to it! Thank You!

Hi Kim!
I've personally never heard of Zumba before... I decided to actually take your Sunday class in April; and honestly since then, I've been ADDICTED!!  It's so much
fun,and it's helped a lot with me losing my weight..  I was a size 6 in April; and now I'm a size 2!!!
Thanks Kim-- for making Zumba so much fun!  I hope you can teach another class here at Gold's!!..

I am a former Jazzercise fanatic.  I was so sad when my favorite Jazzercise
instructor stopped teaching it a few years ago.  I then joined Cal Fit but
missed the fun music and dance routines.  I stumbled into your class one day
and was hooked!  I was shocked to see “white folks” dancing Cumbias!  
I have a Mexican dance background.  I danced ballet Folklorico in high school
and loved it.  Thanks for giving me an excuse to move it like Shakira!

Hi Kim,
My name is Louise and I am one of the students who attends your classes
regularly at CFF.  Well I have to tell you that I am hooked.  I love Zumba!.  I
have brought my friends to your class and they are hooked also!  I want to
thank you for your website.  It is amazing to see the before and after pictures.
 It has given me the motivation and encouragement to continue to take
Zumba classes.  I have noticed that I have a waist and my leg muscles are
becoming stronger.  I have more energy for my family too!  In 5 more weeks I
will begin teaching to first graders again, and I am so excited to have more

Hi Kim,
I had been trying out different classes, but all I was left with, was aching legs
and muscle fatigue. I couldn't even walk due to severe shin pains. I
accidentally dropped into your Zumba class at CFF somewhere around Dec.
2007. I was reluctant to join because, I was not aware with the dance style
used in Zumba and moreover I was rather too shy. I would say that you are
amongst the most talented instructors I have ever met !
Now, I am  totally addicted to Zumba. I cannot think of leaving it for whatsoever
reason. Well I would say it's not about addiction, but it's changed my life for
good ! Now I feel so much more alive and full of energy. Kim, you are nothing
less than an earth-angel, as described by many others,....who has touched so
many lives ! I have lost 10 pounds since 7 months, that too without
compromising on my sweet tooth. What else can anyone dream of....eat
chocolates and do Zumba to loose weight ;-) ?
My son had started attending  Zumba ....But couldn't continue it due to odd
timings. I believe Zumba for kids should be somewhere after school. I really
feel bad when he says," Mom I wish I could go for Zumba class too".
Zumba is a "Feel Happy" workout and almost everyone who tries it, gets
carried away by the music and moves.... ! Thanks for all your efforts for
making our class so enjoyable and continue with Success :-)

Hi Kim,
I have been struggling with my weight for the past 15 years!  Pretty much from the time I got married in 1993.  Then, in 2000 I had my first child and well, it was even
harder to maintain my weight.  I tried Weight Watchers for about 9 months and had some success, but the moment I stopped going to the meetings all the weight I
worked hard to loose came back!  In 2003, I had my second child and had an even harder time loosing any weight afterward.  I LOVE FOOD!!!  What can I say,  In
2006 I went back to Weight Watchers and did better than I had the first time.  But, it took me 8 months to loose 35 pounds and I was working out everyday and
eating what the plan suggested.  Summer of 2006 hit and I fell off the wagon again!  For my height (5'8") I should weigh between 140-150 pounds.  That was what I
weighed before I got married.  Since then I have bounced between 180-215 pounds!  215 being the most I have ever weighed!!!!  

We were members of Cal Fit in 2003 for a short period of time before I found out that I was pregnant with my second child.  At that time we decided to cancel our
membership and purchase an elliptical machine similar to the one at the gym and just work out at home.  Guess where that wonderful machine has sat for the past 5
years?  In our master bedroom...staring at me every day!  Every time I go in my bedroom, there it is!  I am not sure why it is so hard to just get on it, but I figured out
why.  It isn't fun!  I like to have FUN!  ZUMBA is FUN!

I have a few friends who I noticed had really gotten into shape and lost weight in the past 6 months or so.  I kept telling my husband that I wanted to do whatever they
were doing because it was working and they looked FANTASTIC!  So, I found out it was ZUMBA.  I had no clue what ZUMBA was, but I was very interested in finding
out.  Our family was not members of California Family Fitness at the time, but I wanted to take ZUMBA classes so bad and so our family joined the gym just so that I
could take ZUMBA.  I was pretty sure that I would like it because I love all types of music and I love to dance.  What better way to loose weight than to do it while your
doing something you enjoy!  The first few classes I felt awkward and very, very uncoordinated!  But, now I feel great!  I love the music!  I love the movements!  I love
the teacher!  I have been taking ZUMBA from Kim for 4 months now and I have lost 35 pounds and gone down 2 pant sizes and 2 shirt sizes!  I was a 16 in the waist
and now I am wearing size 12 and some of those are getting baggy.  My ideal size is an 8 and I am planning getting there soon :o).  All of my shirts in my closet are
size XL.  I haven't bought a whole lot of new clothes since loosing weight, but the few shirts I have bought have been size Medium!  I can't tell you the last time that I
wore a size Medium!          I am feeling great and starting to get compliments from people.  I think that I am on the road to feeling fit and very happy.  Being heavy
can be depressing...but no more!

I want to thank Kim for being such an amazing teacher and such an inspiration.  Going to ZUMBA each day is at the top of my to do list!  I now plan my days around
ZUMBA so that I won't miss my time in a class that is transforming me into the way I want to look.   I am happy, have more energy and I am feeling more confident and
less self conscious about my appearance.

Hi Kim,
This is my testimony. I got in your class by curiosity, at first it was hard because I
was in bad shape and really overweight. I reached my heaviest at 172 lbs and I
didn't like how I looked, so I decided for last time to do something about it and I was
very skeptical because I tried to many things, nothing give the result that I wanted
so I just give a try and the first month I lost 4 pounds and I started to get motivated
and I really enjoy the class. So I keep coming and after almost 3 months I'm 18 lbs
lighter and 3 sizes smaller, so I am very excited and I feel great. This class is so fun
and I finally have the move not perfect but I am working on it, the best part is I have
tons of energy and when my friends make good comments about my body I feel
amazing and you are my big motivator. You really make a big change on my life.
Thanks for "you can do it ". I keep it on my mind all the time and for pushing me to
do it and for the big heart that you have.

Kim is a true motivator! Not only is she my Sister she is my inspiration! I never would have joined a gym if it were not for Kim and her motivating me to get up, get
moving, get healthy and lose some weight!!! So I have lost weight, gained strength, muscle and a lot of energy since taking Zumba with Kim. Thank you Kim for
inspiring me to Zumba. I
LOVE IT!!!! I have been coming to your class since April and I only get to take your class once a week due to my work schedule (which
sucks) but I positive I would have lost more weight by now, but slow is good I guess :) It is nice when every once in a while I get a Monday or a Friday off because
then I know I get to come to Zumba! It's funny because that is the first thing I think of when I am getting a day off......Ooh! I get to go to class with Kim! I also take
Zumba on other evenings with the other instructors just because I am now a ZUMBA ADDICT and I cannot get enough. You have turned me into a monster :) LOL!!  
Everyone has their own style in teaching and that makes it fun, because the energy is high and music makes you groove and all those moves help you lose and
tone, but when I am in your class I am in a different zone, you come along and push me and say come on Michelle I know you can do it! And so I do.... I guess I figure
if Kimmy can do it so can I!! So Thanks to you my special sister!  You got this couch potato up off the couch and dancing and it is Fun doing it right along with you :)

LOVE your class. I was an avid stepper, but due to my work schedule, I had to cease
stepping. So 10 months ago, I started your class, I was hooked! It was just what I was looking for. I have Zumba on the brain! I have lost several inches. I am sure it
will continue! But most of all you generate energy and enthusiasm! Your moves are easy to follow, and that enables me to get the most out of your class. I look

Hi Kim,
It's been about a year since I purchased the DVDs, fell in love with Zumba, and then I found your studio.  What a life changer!  I remember the first day I walked into
your studio - I was so scared!  I hadn't been in any group fitness in about 20 years!  You were so kind and welcoming, it didn't take long to become comfortable.  
Because of a balance/hearing disability, I have been using a cane for about 7 years.  I was fearful of being alone in social situations, even crossing the street had
become difficult.  Zumba has changed that.  I rarely use the cane anymore, my balance has improved dramatically!  I've lost inches, 2 pant sizes, have amazing
energy and feel fantastic.  I've never been so self-confident in my entire life!  I'm 54 years old!  I am so proud of myself!  My husband is very proud of me, too.  I
wake up every morning hearing a Zumba song in my head.  :)  
Thank you for helping to change this dizzy Grandma's life, Kim.  I am blessed to know you.

I just wanted to let you know that my nIece and I took Zumba for the first time today and absolutely LOVED it.  It was so much fun.  We laughed and talked about it all
day!  I have been wanting to try Zumba since the first one started at CFF and never got around to it.  Then my old neighbor (Becky Bush)  told me she had been
going and I was impressed with her weight loss.  She also told me how much she loved it.  So finally I made it and can't wait to go back!

Hey Kim. I've been meaning to do this for quite a while but I just wanted to take the time to tell you how great of a Zumba Instructor you are. My first class was with
you a couple of years ago and I fell in love with Zumba. Through Cal Fit I attended many more Zumba classes with other instructors and needless to say that's why I
go to your studio. Your energy, your super fun personality and your great choreography bring me back again and again. I can't express how much fun I have at your
classes. For once in my life exercising is fun! I work my butt off but I love every minute of it. I really look forward to coming. Thank you so much for doing what you do!

After zumba-ing with you for the last couple of years, I just visited the web site!  Wow!  It is so touching to read all of the testimonials and see before and after pics of
your own journey!  I started zumba on my birthday after I retired and saw the scale at 174 and found myself winded after one flight of stairs!  It was and continues to
be a challenge, but I love being in your classes for all of the reasons I have read today!   As a former teacher I know that you have been given a very special gift.  It
is clear that you are motivated and inspired by your passion, and that in turn, you motivate and inspire others!  It is also remarkable that you find avenues to support
the community and needy causes. I look forward to shaking and baking for some time to come with you and want to thank you for your on-going kindness, friendship

I took my first Zumba class with you yesterday.  I now believe the friend who brought me...I'm Zumba Obsessed!  Thanks so much for making my first class so
wonderful.  I was afraid that I would be the only one who did not know all the moves or that all the people in the class would be super skinny.  I was wrong on both
accounts.  I can't wait for the next class on Thursday!  I have told all of my girlfriends about it.  Thanks again!

I wanted to give you my Zumba story since I have not only reached but passed my goal weight! Yeah!! Even my dentist noticed the difference haha :)
Three months after having my second baby I had almost given up on losing the baby weight.  Although I was intimidated to try Zumba, your class was the first class I
tried. In the first month I lost 6 lbs. Now I am down over 20 lbs and have passed my goal weight! I regularly attend your studio classes and love them. I not only go for
the work out but overall I feel better about myself and it helps me stay motivated to eat better and be more active. I actually look forward to working out now! I have
tried other Zumba classes but your routines and energy are what make the class fun!

Dancing has always been my passion! I was even a member of our Dance Troupe in College and I had more self confidence in myself back then... 5 ft 8 inches tall,
weighing 115 pounds! I had my first child in 1992 (seven days prior to my 20Th birthday) and 3 months after giving birth, I was bedridden for 2 months due to joint
pain and inflammations. It was then that I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis after series of tests, I slowly recuperated from it after being on medications
for about a year but I still felt so devastated knowing that I have this chronic condition and that I will never be the same again ... When I came to America (1995), I
have felt relief knowing that I would now have better medical treatments and attention. True enough, I did get the medical attention, my
Rheumatologist found out
that I am not only suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis but I have an additional diagnosis:
Fibromyalgia! This time, I accepted it wholeheartedly because I would rather
take all these ailments as long as my son is healthy. It has truly been difficult especially when I was in constant pain despite my medications and even more
excruciating when I got pregnant with my middle child and youngest child (born 10.14 pounds) since I refused to take any of my medications during my pregnancies
due to fears of getting my unborn children affected. I was willing to suffer so I can have healthy babies!
And yes, after 3 kids, immobility (due to severe pain and joint swelling), stress, depression, and very low self esteem, I BECAME TWICE AS HEAVY AS I USED TO
BE! But this revelation does not end of my story...
I have started joining Zumba classes with Kim at California Family Fitness (Bond Road) on September 28, 2009. Honestly, my weight was not my biggest concern at
all when I decided to join her classes, I was thinking more about mobility, being able to get out of the box, be able to walk or move, have the energy so I can take
care of my children as well as being able to alleviate my feelings of self pity and uselessness because of my incapabilities brought by my medical and emotional
conditions.
I only know one thing for sure - KIM + ZUMBA definitely changed my life! This combination continues to help me physically and emotionally until now. I am starting to
gain back my self confidence which I lost ever since I gained so much weight, I am now able to walk without using any assistive devices, I have more energy now than
I used to and I AM DANCING AND HAVING SO MUCH FUN! I never thought that despite these highly debilitating conditions, that I would have the capability, the
energy and the determination again to walk, move around and more so, Dance!


Kim: my deepest gratitude for being an awesome Zumba Instructor and choreographer! I am truly hoping that my testimonial would be an Inspiration to people with
Chronic Medical Conditions and people who are burdened by Emotional problems and Depression. "Let ZumbaKim be the Prozac of Your Life" (joke!)

I discovered Zumba and Kim in June 2008 at California Family Fitness and now have followed her around to her classes she offers at Makamae Studio of Dance as
well.  I usually average 3 - 4 classes a week.  It is a great stress reliever and always a party.  I have lost about 75 lbs since I started.  
I had gastric bypass surgery on 9/24/07 and have lost a total of 170 lbs.  Since doing Zumba I have been able to continue to lose weight and I have become more
toned and fit than ever before.  I used to HATE EXERCISE and now can't wait for ZUMBA with KIM.

Hi Kim,
I want to thank you for being a great Zumba instructor!  I just love your class. I first
took your class in summer of 2008 and I've been hooked ever since! I wake up
many morning humming Zumba music and I just can't wait to go to your class.  
Though I still take step classes and lift weights I love Zumba the best.  If I miss
your classes do to work schedule I even wake up 5 AM to Zumba . I never wake up
that early to any other classes!  I know you make so many ladies happy because
you are wonderful, enthusiastic,and fun

Kim, I just visited your website and read a lot of testimonials.  I thought I should give you mine.  I started taking your class in October of 2008 shortly after leaving my
job.  My parents are both in failing health and with two teenage boys at home; my time was being spread thinly in many directions.  I loved my job and the people that
I worked with, but I was suffering from exhaustion and frequent headaches.  Fast forward to now and I feel like a completely different person.  For the first time in
ages I have given myself the gift of "my time" which translates to Zumba.  I love coming to your classes.  The energy I receive from you and the other ladies is
wonderful.  The energy I receive from Zumba itself is awesome.  When I finish your class, I feel ready to take on the day.  I'm looking and feeling better too!
